Usage
You can use this form to search the department directory by partial first
and/or last names. The search can also be limited to a particular unit
(division, research unit, department, etc...) You must enter something
in one of the fields. A single letter is enough in either of the name
fields as is choosing a unit from the drop-down list. Searches are not
case sensitive.
By default, if the search sees a first name that appears to be a nickname
('dave' or 'joe' for instance) the name is translated to the full name
('david', 'joseph') before the search is performed. Uncheck the "Enable
nickname substitution" box to disable this behavior.
Notes
A first name search will look for any matching terms, first, middle and
names that have multiple terms. Likewise, a last name search will search for
matches on all terms in multi-term last names. So searching for first names
of 'k' will return entries where the individual's first or middle name
starts with a 'k'.
In most cases, names in this directory are the same as what appears in your
human resources information. If you go primarily by a name that
does not appear in your HR data, it can be entered into the directory so
your entry appears when someone searches for your preferred name. Simply
contact the webmaster at the e-mail address at the bottom of this page to
have a preferred name associated with your entry. Additional alternative
last names are also possible (allowing searches for maiden names or common
spelling errors).
