Rheumatology | For Parents

Clinics, Camps and Events

To schedule an appointment, please contact us at (314) 454-6124.  For new patients, a nurse specialist will assess the child's condition to determine how soon he/she needs to be seen.  Depending on the assessment, the wait time for a new appointment is not more than one week.

Rheumatology Clinic

Rheumatology clinic is held on Monday and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. -  noon at St. Louis Children's Hospital (maps, directions), 2nd floor, Suite C.  You may expect the visit to last one and a half hours plus the amount of time necessary to perform any required lab work.  You will be contacted after your child's visit in order to explain the results of any laboratory tests and to discuss any necessary adjustments to the treatment plan.

Shriners Hospital Rheumatology Clinic

Shriners Rheumatology clinic is held the first and third Fridays of each month at Shriners Hospital of St. Louis, located at 2001 S. Lindbergh Blvd.  You may expect the visit to last one hour plus the amount of time necessary to perform any required lab work.

Special Events

Cabin Fever Weekend, held in conjunction with the Arthritis Foundation, is a St. Louis getaway weekend for families of children with arthritis.  Activities for adults and children are planned for the enjoyment of everyone.  This event, held at the Missouri Athletic Club for the past eight years, occurs during the first weekend in March.

The annual Martha Kurtz Hillman Joint Adventures Camp is a week-long event held in early summer at the Rotary Camp in Lee's Summit, Missouri on beautiful Lake Jacomo.  It is sponsored by the Arthritis Foundation.  The camp is staffed by healthcare professionals familiar with the needs of children with arthritis, and activities are planned accordingly.
