The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases is a section of the Department of Pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine and is based at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Activities within the division revolve around patient care, teaching, and biomedical research in the field of pediatric infectious disease and microbial pathogenesis. In addition, division faculty are responsible for medical directorship of the clinical microbiology laboratories of St. Louis Children's Hospital and the hospital's infection control program. The division also participates in a number of programs with the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Department of Medicine and with the Department of Molecular Microbiology. The division receives support for training students and fellows from a training grant administered through the Department of Medicine.
